Shawn Jacob Simmons, a loving son, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and passionate car enthusiast, passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of 50. His departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Surrounded by his beloved family, Shawn found solace in their presence as he transitioned to join his parents, grandparents, and niece in the eternal embrace of heaven.

Born on January 29, 1973, in Dallas, Texas, Shawn was the second oldest of five siblings. His parents, Scottie Ann (Smith) Simmons and Bobby Neil Simmons, raised him in a loving and nurturing close-knit family bond that would shape his life in profound ways.

In Shawn's youth he discovered his love for BMX bike racing. From the moment he hopped on his first bike, a fire ignited within him that would fuel his competitive spirit for years to come. Fearless and determined, he spent countless hours perfecting his skills, pushing the limits of what seemed possible. The racetrack was his canvas, and every race was a masterpiece in motion.

As the years went by, Shawn's passion gradually transitioned into a love for cars. He traded in his bike for the roar of engines and the exhilaration of speed. Whether it was fine-tuning his own vehicle or admiring the craftsmanship of others, Shawn's fascination with cars became a defining aspect of his adult life. Through his love for automobiles, he found a way to connect with others who shared the same enthusiasm, forming lifelong friendships and creating memories that will forever be cherished.

Shawn is survived by his three adoring sisters, Charlotte Fraser, Tory Williams, and Shannon Homan, and his beloved little brother, Joshua Simmons. Their bond was unbreakable, rooted in a lifetime of shared experiences, laughter, and unconditional love. Shawn's sisters and brother will forever hold cherished memories of their times together, finding solace in the legacy of love he leaves behind.

Shawn's legacy extends to his two daughters, Olivia Vargas and Katelyn Simmons, who brought joy and pride to his life. His love for them was immeasurable, and he was a constant source of support, encouragement, and guidance. The role of grandfather brought him unparalleled happiness, and his granddaughter, Clementine Alderman, became the apple of his eye. Shawn's love and devotion to his family knew no bounds, and his presence will be deeply missed in their lives.

In addition to his immediate family his memory will live on through the lives he touched, including his two nieces, six nephews, and four great nieces, all of whom will carry his legacy forward.

Shawn found unwavering love and support from the love of his life, Theresa Livar. With Theresa alongside Shawn's siblings, daughters, nieces, and nephews, they stood by his side until the very end, providing comfort and love during his final moments.
