Sharon Lou (Thomas) Strawther, 73, of Quinlan went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2021. Sharon was born on August 1, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to Vernon Ray and Bessie Mildred (Jones) Thomas. She was a Baptist in faith. Sharon was a member of the first graduating class of South Garland High School in 1965, and a member of the Southern Belles drill team. Sharon’s working career included beginning as a bank teller in Forney, a Grandma’s Fried Chicken Franchise restaurant owner in Van and Canton, and 24 years in the Land, Title & Escrow business from which she retired. Sharon had the biggest heart of any woman in the world.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Strawther; parents, Vernon Ray and Bessie Thomas; sister, Wanda Compton; brothers, Vernon Ray Thomas, Jr., Jimmy Thomas, and Hoyt Melton Thomas.
She is survived by her sons Michael F. Hallmark of Quinlan, Texas, and Christopher Russell Hallmark & wife Wendy of Royse City, Texas; three granddaughters, Samantha M. Hudgins & husband Decker of Tool, Texas, Sierra R. Hallmark of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Hannah F. Hallmark of Royse City, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Radley Hudgins of Tool, Texas and Hudson Hallmark of Ft. Hood, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She will always be loved and missed. We know she is in the hands of God now and with all her loved ones in heaven who left before us.
A graveside interment service is planned for March 20th, 2021 at 3 PM at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 4118 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, TX, 75228.
