Ruth Bird

Ruth Bird was a pioneer of Lake Tawakoni, residing and working in the area for more than 50 years. She had many friends in the area and was a very active member of the community. Ruth worked with Constable Culen Smith, helping to support those less fortunate. She also provided transportation for people to and from the doctor, store, etc. Ruth was the office manager for Tawakoni Water Company for many years and a long standing member of the VFW & American Legion. Ruth was very active in local politics and frequently corresponded with US Presidents.

Ruth is survived by her Son, Tommy Deeds and wife Andrea; Grandchildren, Billy Deeds, Bobby Deeds, Brandie Deeds and Chad Kerker; Great Grandchildren, Josh Cotten, Jenna Deeds, and Christina Kerker. She is preceded in death by her parents and her nine brothers and sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel.
