Roy Steelman

Roy Scott Steelman, 47, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Roy was born on June 1, 1967 to Roy and Carol Steelman in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Roy was nicked named Hobbs because he loved baseball so much. He was also a Die Hard Cowboys fan and could always find him watching the GAME on any given Sunday. Roy worked as an engineer and Project Manager in the Telecommunication industry working for companies such as MCI for 15 years and lastly Power Energy. He also worked for Black Hawk Management in the civil defense industry. He was very dedicated to his children Brooke and Dean, and it showed by the many years of coaching them, from soccer to baseball, football to volleyball. Roy is survived by his son Dean Steelman; daughter Brooke Summerfield and her husband Dave; granddaughter Addison Summerfield; father and mother Roy and Carol Steelman; sisters, Cheryl Bush and her husband Doug, Lori Steelman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. A gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life will be held at Bart Peddicord Community Center at 2:30pm on January 10th, 2015 located at 100 West Oak Street in Wylie Texas, 75098
