Rodney Kyle Calk, Sr., 46, resident of Quinlan, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011 in the peace of his home. He was born on June 1, 1964 in Dallas, the son of David Calk and Frances Moody-Hill. He was a plumber, a handyman and an avid fisherman. He is survived by his son, Rodney Kyle Calk, Jr. of Quinlan; daughter, Melodie Calk of Dallas; mother of his children, Mellonie Panahi of Mesquite; three sisters, Debbie Lindsey and her husband Eddie of Forney, Dana Lindsey and her husband, Barry of Mesquite, and Donna McKinley of East Tawakoni; two brothers, Steve Cross of Emory and Paul Aaron of East Tawakoni; step-brother, Steve Harris and his wife Glenna of Terrell; step-sister, Kyla McCormack and her husband Don of Longview; special cousin, Ricky Wolfe; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Frances Hill; stepfather, Arlen Hill; grandmother, Redheaded Momma, and nephew, Blake Lindsey. His funeral service will be Thursday, February 24, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Steve Harris officiating. All arrangements were made through Quinlan Funeral Home.
