Robert Brian Crawford passed away at the age of 48 on September 20, 2024 surrounded by family.
Born October 14, 1975 to Robert Douglas and Michelle Crawford, Brian spent his youth outdoors and was All Boy. He played baseball and graduated from Arlington High School lettering in football.
Showing his true leadership skills, Brian joined the United States Marine Corp and graduated from basic training with honors. He deployed to several exotic places including Japan, Australia, and Egypt. Brian was very proud to be a Marine and was saddened when his wrist injury would lead to a desk job. Brian was honorably discharged as a full Corporal, but always said once a Marine, always a Marine.
Brian earned his civilian living in the construction business. He loved to build things and always puttered around. He fixed things whether they needed to be fixed or not. He was our Tim the Toolman. He shared that love with his girls by often taking them to the Home Depot craft-days and built bird houses, toolboxes, race cars, etc.
Movies were big on Brian’s entertainment list. He would pack up the girls and go every time something new came out for the kids. Hanging out at home, there was always a movie playing on the TV. Sheet tents for family movie night with pizza, popcorn and candy was a common event.
Brian loved all genres of music and enjoyed festivals and concerts. He learned to play the guitar and spent countless hours practicing on Meme’s patio. We can still hear it today.
There is no truer Cowboy fan than Brian – he drank the Kool-aid, bled blue and silver, and was ‘all in’ every year.
Brian was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and nephew. A great friend to many – several since Junior High. He will be greatly missed here among us but take comfort in knowing he is laughing with Meme and Uncle Bill today, as Brian knew Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior.
Brian is survived by daughters Hailey Scarbrough, Hope Crawford, and Kinley Crawford; granddaughter Saydie Overton; father Doug (Lori) Crawford; mother Mickie (Buba) Stover; brother Jimmy Crawford; step-sister Brittany Wise; grandfather Harold Gant; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandmother Shirley Crawford, uncle Bill Freeland, cousin Morgan Stock, daughter Savanah Crawford, grandfather Dr. Robert Crawford, grandmother Joan Gant, and cousin Jeff Freeland.
