Parvin Rice

Parvin Wayne Pete Rice, 84, of Quinlan, passed away on July 26, 2010 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Pete was born on August 25, 1925 the son of Arthur Washington and Exar Lee (Milton) Rice. He married Dorothy Nell Norris on May 29, 1947. He was a rancher and ranch manager before his retiring. Pete is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Rice; four children, Charlotte Hughes of Krum, Don Rice of Quinlan, Greg Rice of Troup, and Becky Baskin of Quinlan; sister, Inez Rice of Quinlan, 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in his death by his parents; daughter, Priscilla Brittain; great granddaughter, Madison Kay Jones; and his twin brother, Marvin Dick Rice. His funeral service, under the direction of Quinlan Funeral Home, will be Thursday, July 29 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Brother David Hammond officiating. His burial will follow the service at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville.
