Marion Melvin Morton, Jr., affectionately known to everyone as "Butch"; passed away suddenly at the age of 64 in Plano, Texas on Monday, July 14, 2014. Butch was born on January 5, 1950 to Marion, Sr. and Martha Morton in Dallas, Texas. He would proudly and honorably service his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict. Butch was a quiet -simple man who enjoyed life. He would drive a truck all his life, always enjoying the freedom of the open road. He worked many years for Stickey Furniture out of New York; and later for Bagley Sanitation out of Fort Worth. Butch would meet and later married Barbara McGee. Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Marion, Sr. and Martha Morton; as well as his brother Robert Morton. Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Barbara Morton; daughters, Jennifer Thomas and her husband Jeremy, Jackie Hoffman and Tina Lummus and her husband Aaron; grandchildren, Daryl, Cole, Jesse, Shannon, James, Jacob and Samantha; sisters Jamie Lynn, Jan Sydney, Corrye Beth and Carla Ann; as well numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A celebration of Butch's life will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The inurnment will be at a later date.
