Mae Jean Vahl, 70, of Quinlan passed away on Sunday. May 31, 2020 at her home. Mae was born on April 2, 1950 in San Angelo, the daughter of Billy Dean Carney and Doris Jean Clark. She married August Lee Vahl in Houston. Mae was a cosmetologist and hair was her passion. She then worked in Quinlan Independent School District helping her community. Mae loved to play pool, listen to music and dance.
Mae is preceded in her death by her parents, Billy Dean Carney and Doris Jean (Clark) Hammonds; her husband, August Lee Vahl; sister, Billy Marie; and brothers, Daniel Carney and Burton Carney.
Mae’s family members who are cherishing the memories of her life are her daughter, Brandy Dean Vahl; grandchildren, Christopher Dylan Zimmer, Kaleb Blake Zimmer, and Savanna Lea Zimmer; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Rita Carney, Hester Carney, Linda Motley and her husband Bill, and Suzanne Hammonds; numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Friday, June 5, 2020 at Quinlan Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 in the Chapel with Bro. David Hammond Officiating. Her burial will follow the service in the Quinlan Odd Fellows Cemetery.
