Lemuel Robert Maines

Graveside service for Lemuel (Joe) Maines, age 84, of Royse City will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Mr. Maines passed away on July 5, 2022 at his home.

Lemuel was born on December 31, 1937 in Mapleton, Pennsylvania to Nehemiah and Rena Bell (Bumbarger) Maines. He married Sheila D. Taylor on September 26, 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas. Lemuel honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed spending time with his family, raising cattle, watching western movies in his favorite chair with his dog, and spending time with his wife sitting on the front porch together enjoying the country air.

He is survived by his children, Mike Maines, Norman Elliott, Sandra Strong, and Michele Maines; grandkids, Justin Elliott, William Strong, Johnny Elliott, Marissa Dally, Bailey Maines, and Josh Maines; two siblings, and numerous greatgrandchildren.

Lemuel was preceded in death by his parents, Nehemiah and Rena Bell Maines; and twelve brothers and sisters.
