Kirtsey Garrett

Kirtsey Garrett, better known to his family and friends as "Sonny Boy" passed away in his home, after a lengthy illness on October 15, 2016 in Ennis.

Sonny was born in Terrell on November 8, 1950 and lived in Terrell most of his life.

He is preceded in life by his parents, Matt and Christy Bell Garrett; his sisters Vada and Johnnie; and brother, James Earl.

Surviving family include his sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Billy Matthews; nieces, Kelly Chennault, Amanda Ochoa, Kristina Hollaway, Jennifer Hamby; and nephew, Jeremy Matthews. He had several great nieces and nephews, other family members and countless friends who loved him and that he in turn loved just as much. Sonny will be remembered as a kind and generous person who always had a smile on his face and loved making others smile. He will be forever loved and greatly missed.

Service will be held Saturday, October 22, at 1:00 pm in the Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the family will be from 12-1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow the funeral service at McBride Cemetery in Quinlan.
