Joseph Smith Welch

Joseph (Joe) Welch went to sleep with Jesus on November 13, 2024. He was born October 27, 1935 to Thomas Weaver and Sally Elizabeth Welch. He graduated from Wright City High School in 1952, after which he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for three years. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University. He worked for Farmer Insurance as an adjuster for thirty years. He was a member of the Greenville Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Joe loved to fish and spent a lot of time fishing on Lake Tawakoni with his buddy Bob.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Carol; two sons, Thomas Rockett (Val) and Tobin Rockett (Kim) of Alvarado; brother, Donald Welch of Arlington; granddaughters, Sierra Rockett of Alvarado and Tiffany Rockett of Montana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father Thomas Weaver and mother Sally Elizabeth Welch; one sister, Tommie Welch Davis; brothers, Theodore, Clifford, and Lewis Welch.

Joe loved the Lord and was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by many.

A celebration of life will be held at a future time.
