Johnny Lee Thompson

Johnny Thompson, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on February 23rd, 2023.

 

Johnny was born in Hunt County, TX, on June 26th, 1936 to Carroll Thompson & Emma Crow. Growing up, he developed a strong sense of pride in his work while tending various farmlands. This appreciation for hard-work followed him as he served in the United States Navy, and eventually ran his own successful tractor shop until retirement.

 

More than anything, Johnny loved his family. He never failed to go above and beyond to make any positive impact on them that he could. Even as he settled into his later years, he never lost his passion for working on lawn mowers & tractors. He also loved spoiling his pets & watching wildlife. He was a proud long-term supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. 

 

Johnny is survived by his daughter Patricia Marshall and husband, Patrick of Estill Springs, TN; son Mark Thompson and wife, Eileen of Quinlan, TX; grandchildren Brian Harry and wife, Liz of Denver, CO; Emily Marshall of Livingston, MT; Mark Thompson Jr. & Kevin Thompson of Quinlan, TX; Brandon Marshall of Lebanon, PA; great grandchildren Sawyer, Owen, Gwendolyn; siblings Faye Cleek, Gaye Lawdermilk, Louise Thompson; special nephew Norman Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Juanita Hunt; brothers Buddy Thompson, Glen Thompson, & Clarence Ray Thompson; son Michael Thompson.
