Joe Anderton

Joe Anderton, 78, of Quinlan passed away Monday June 20, 2016 at his residence. Funeral service will be 3:00pm Friday, June 24, at the Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Quinlan. A gathering of family and friends will be 7:00pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, June 23 at the funeral home.

Joe was born April 29, 1938 in Quinlan, Texas to Jimmie William Anderton and Bessie Alice Nowlain Anderton. He owned and operated a sod farm in the Quinlan area.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Linda Cockrum of Quinlan; son Troy Anderton II and wife Christine of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren James Cockrum, Andria Cockrum, Coy Anderton, Crystal Anderton, Joshua Anderton, and Tory Anderton III; great grandchildren Landon Edwards, Brooklynn Walsh, Cheyenne Anderton, William Anderton, Sayden Garza, and Ayden Anderton; brothers James Anderton and wife Sharon of Quinlan, and Darrell Anderton of Quinlan; sister Wanda Cannon of Rockwall; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; son Coy Anderton; granddaughter Britney Cockrum; brothers Roy Anderton, Ben Anderton, and Harold Anderton; sister Dorothy Thompson.
