Jessie James Housewright, 88, of Quinlan, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. Jessie was born April 9, 1926 to A. B and Hollis Housewright in Wylie, Texas. Jessie served his country with honor in the United States Army during the occupation of Germany after World War II. He would meet and marry Maudie Dial. Jessie was a native Texan who lived his entire life here. He was a firm believer in discipline, keeping your word and working hard to get ahead. Jessie also had a big heart and compassionate spirit. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jessie is preceded in death by his parents, A. B. and Hollis Housewright; his beloved wife Maudie Fay Housewright; sons, Charles Housewright and Marvin Housewright. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Leroy Housewright; daughter, Betty Sue White; thirty-two grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A celebration of Jessie's life will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11 am at the funeral home. "Even though we have lost a great man; God is gaining one."
