James Phillips

James Richard Phillips, 56 of Quinlan Texas, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 in Greenville, Texas. James, affectionately know as "Ricky" to all who knew him, was born July 27, 1958 to Billy and Shirley Phillips in Kaufman, Texas. Ricky would meet and marry Brenda Petrea. They would have two sons; James Jr. and Jason. Ricky was a man who worked with his hands. He was a carpenter and cabinetmaker working construction his entire professional life; creating fine furniture and woodwork. He even had his own construction company for several years. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Phillips and Shirley Criswell; his brother, Michael Criswell and his beloved step-father L.G. Criswell. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, James Phillips Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Jason Phillips and his wife Jennifer; their mother, Brenda Phillips; grandchildren, Katlyn, Kara, Kayla, Kyle, Jayden, Tristyn and Bryleigh; brothers, John Criswell, Jerry Phillips, Billy Phillips,, Danny Phillips; sister, Jeanne Rhodes; as well as numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A celebration of Ricky's life will beheld on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
