James Lloyd Messick, 78 of Quinlan Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Rockwall Texas. James was born on September 20, 1936 to Frank and Lula Mae Messick in Willbarger County Texas. James went of to service his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. James would meet and marry Bernice Kinder in 1973. James was a truck driver all his professional life. James loved the freedom of the open road; as well as meeting different and interesting people all over the United States. But James' greatest passion was for his family. He adored his wife, Bernice. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. James had a compassionate spirit, open heart and infectious smile. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. James is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eula Mae Messick; his beloved wife, Bernice; brother, Donald Messick; as well as sons Charles and Nelson Watson. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Vicki Kemp and her husband Billy; Kim Barker and her husband Gary, Allison Hegwood and her husband James; son, Dale Mouck; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Messick and his wife Sharlot, Ron Messick, Marshall Messick; sisters, Shirley Tippett and her husband Jerry, Norma Miller and her husband Albert, Bettye Tracy and her husband Wesley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors. A private interment is planned for later this week.
