James Henry Jake Jacobs, 73, passed away on May 24, 2014 at his home in West Tawakoni, Texas. Jake was born on February 8, 1941 to Raymond and Fannie Jacobs in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Jake served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army. He would later become an active member of the Teamsters Union and fellow truck driver. Jake was a member on the Veterans of Foreign War, the American Legion and the American Veterans Associations in Quinlan, Texas. Jake is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Fannie Jacobs; as well as his son Rance McCollum. Those left to celebrate his life include his sons, Mike and Mark Stoltz; daughters, Jamie Grant and her husband Rick, Diane Marsh and her husband Stephen; grandchildren, Morgan and Ricki Grant, Rachel, Adrian and Rance Marsh; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Brylee and Carter; sisters, Jo Hilewitz, Doris Gilbert and her husband Dean, Jane Allen and her husband Francis, Barbara Graham and her husband Howard; as well numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A celebration of Jakes life will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers and cards, donation be made in Jakes name to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorsproject.org.
