James Allen

James L. Allen, 80, of Wills Point passed away Wednesday, May 04, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Dallas. Military graveside service will be 2:15pm Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Rev. David Hammond officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be 10:00am Tuesday, May 10 at Quinlan Funeral Home.

James was born January 15, 1936 in Collinsville, Texas to Monte Allen and Iris Carney Allen. He proudly served his country during the Korean war with the US Air Force. Later he worked as a machinist for Engineer Equipment.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Dale Marie Byrd, Patty Nussbaumer and husband Sam, Sandy Allen, and Barbara Kozak; son Byron Allen; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; sisters Caralyn LeBlack and husband Charles, Cherry Doughetery, and Gale Hannigan and husband Walter; brother Robert Allen and Wife Vicki. James was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Vickie Allen; son Michael Allen; sister Wanda Snider.
