Jackie Whitt, age 80, of Quinlan passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at her residence. Jackie was born August 6, 1936 in Utica, Ohio the daughter of John and Ruth (Daugherty) Peck. She graduated from Linden McKinley High School in Colombus, Ohio. She then moved to Texas in 1962 and she married Olen Whitt in Greenville on August 19, 1975. He preceded her in death In February of 2010. She retired from AT&T Lucent Technologies in July of 1990 after 19 years.
Jackie also known as mom and Mammaw was soft spoken, kind-hearted, loving, beautiful, loyal, Respectful, and hardworking. She enjoyed time with her family, sewing, quilting, cooking, boating, camping, fishing, and garage sales. She loved to be outdoors, sitting under the shade tree daily and last but not least she loved her Texas Rangers.
Those who are cherishing Jackie's memories are her children, Laura and Jason Worley, Eddie and Shelia Bowshier, DeAnna Whitt and Charlie Hunke, Belinda Hughes, Lisa Bowshier, John Paul Bowshier, and Glenn Whitt; seventeen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Quinlan Funeral Home on Friday, March 3, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Dick Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Weiland Cemetery with Danny Hughes, Jeff Murphy, Richard Sims, Jared Mahan, Jacob Bice, and Jeff Gaddis serving as pallbearers.
