Harold S. Joe Locke, long time resident of Quinlan, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2010 in McKinney. His viewing is open to the public Tuesday afternoon. His Funeral Service is Wednesday, June 23, 2:00 PM at Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the IOOF Cemetery. He was born on October 21, 1939 in Old Hickory, Tennessee, the son of Nick M. Locke and Audrey McGee Locke. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He co-owned Quinlan Pest Control for 40 years. He was past Department Commander of AMVETS department of Texas and was active in the AMVETS for 25 years. Joe was active with the American Legion, the VFW, and the Knights Of Columbus as well. Funeral arrangements handled through Quinlan Funeral Home. He is survived by Diane Louise Locke of Quinlan, his wife of 40 years, their two sons, Toby Joe Locke and his wife Karen of Lebanon, Tennessee and Cory Joe Locke of Tennessee Colony; 4 grandchildren Keeley Locke of Lebanon, Tennessee, Brettnee Locke, Courtnee Locke, and Deven Locke of Quinlan; great granddaughter Jalynn Sutton of Quinlan; sisters Ann Howden and her husband Duane of Goodlestsville, Tennessee and H. Gayle Kennedy of Franklin, Tennessee; brother Nick Carter and his wife Diane of Lake Wylie, South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Audrey McGee Cline, father Nick M. Locke and step-mother Dorothy Laine Locke A memorial fund in Joes name has been set up at the American National Bank in Quinlan.
