Floyd Jones, 81, of Tool, TX passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in the peace of his home surrounded by his family. Floyd was born on September 4, 1939 in Quinlan, TX, the son of Mike and Velma Lee (Adams) Jones. Floyd married Nancie Grant on February 5, 1977 in Bryn, TX. He was a tile setter for the majority of his career. Nub was a very hard worker and even after retiring he took on various jobs to stay busy.
Nub loved spending time with his family and always had a smile on his face. He loved fishing and his son made sure to take him as much as possible. In his younger years he enjoyed his back riding and was very devoted father and husband. Nub was one of a kind with the biggest heart and kindest soul. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Floyd is preceded in his death by his father, Mike Jones; mother, Velma Lee Adams; sister, Mary Velma Adams; and brothers, Lloyd Jones and David Adams.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Nancie Jones; mother, Patsy Grine; daughters, Elizabeth Jones, Lacreada Mitcham and her husband Matthew; sons, Floyd Wayne Jones, Glen Jones and his wife Virginia, Brent Jones and his wife Jennifer; 24 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
His public viewing and visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Quinlan Funeral Home with Leslie Jones officiating. Interment will follow the service in the West Memorial Cemetery in Quinlan.
