Elizabeth Flossie Jumper Thomas, formerly of Quinlan and spending a number of years in a Paris, Texas nursing home, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011. Elizabeth was born on May 28, 1920 in Quinlan, the daughter of pioneer Quinlan parents, Dexter Clint and Florence Elizabeth (Hembree) Jumper. She attended Quinlan and Floyd Schools growing up. She started beauty salon work at the age of fourteen and she had an eye for beauty and loved this work. After raising her family she moved to Orange and Maryville, California an area she dearly admired. Elizabeth was preceded in death by three husbands; her parents; two children, Helen Ruth Robinson Magaha and Jimmy Hammer; brother, Delton Jumper; sisters, Theresa Reed, Tincie Mathey, and Wanna Lou Brown. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her children, Billy Joe Thomas, James Thomas, Betty Sue Thomas, Tommy Lee Haley, Jacky Robinson, Jimmy Lee Robinson, Linda Darnell Robinson Moore, and Elizabeth (Katy) Robinson Miller; sisters, Rev. Letha Jumper of Quinlan and Ruby Jo Robinson of Irving; brother, Huey Bo Jumper of Quinlan; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Her funeral service will be 2:30 pm Wednesday, January12 at the funeral home with her sister, Lifetime Ordained Minister, Rev. Letha Jumper officiating. Her burial will follow the service at IOOF Cemetery in Quinlan. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Funeral Home.
