Edith Mae Sunday

Funeral service for Edith Mae (Anders) Sunday, age 85, of Scurry, Texas will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Quinlan Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Quinlan Funeral Home. Mrs. Sunday passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at her home.

Edith was born on November 4, 1936 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Garland and Irene (Medders) Anders. She married Roy A. Sunday in July of 1993 in Quinlan. Edith worked in home health and enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, and watching soap operas.

She is survived by a sister, Dolly Sunday of Quanah, Texas; daughter, Julia Carr of Scurry; sons, Billy Chaney of Lindale, Texas, and Robert Shackleford of Smithville, Texas; grandchildren, Melissa Hoeger, Tommy D. Freeman, Britany Michelle Merrill, Taylor Boulay, Justin Shackleford, and John Chaney; several great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Sunday; son, Kenneth Anders; brothers, Charles Anders and David Anders; sister, Inez Tarrant; mother, Irene Medders; and father, Garland Anders.
