Dorothy Lera Cox, 93, of Quinlan passed away August 8, 2017 in Greenville. She was born the daughter of William Wesley and Bessie (Wynn) Boss in Sulphur Springs on July 11, 1924. She married Orville Cox in Sulphur Springs in 1939. He preceded her in death July of 1966.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carolyn Hoyt, and husband Mike and Evaughn Lyday, and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Charles Bryant Jr., Michael Hoyt, Lisa Rowe, Dan Hoyt, Jason Bryant, Cheryl Hoyt, James Cox II, Charlotte Cox, and Chris Lyday; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Orville Cox and 10 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at Quinlan Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tommy Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Rockwall Memorial Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will held Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
