Don Jones

Don J. Jones, 80, of Palestine formerly of Quinlan passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Memoryland Memorial Park under the direction of Quinlan Funeral Home. Visitation will 12:00pm Saturday until service time.

Don was born July 25, 1935 in Lawton, OK to Joseph Jefferson Jones and Cammie Mae Howard Jones. He served his country proudly in the US Army. Afterward he worked at E-Systems/Raytheon. He married the love of his life Iva Bennett May 8, 1971 in Quinlan, Texas. He will be remembered by many for his kind and loving spirit.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years Iva Jones of Palestine; daughters Kathy Allison of Greenville, Jackie Watson and husband Gene of Emory, Angie Jones of Dallas, and Shanda Ray and husband Chad of Palestine; grandchildren Jared, Ben, Jayme, Selina, Alex, Will, Kyli, and Samuel; six great grandchildren; sister Barbara Brink of Florence, AL. Don was preceded in death by his parents and one sister JoAnn Rascoe.
