Billy Frank Tucker, 80, of Quinlan, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Billy was born October 15, 1933 to Forrest and Edna Tucker in Dorchester, Texas. Billy would go on to service his country with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Billy married Ruth Sleeper on July 25, 1952 in Dallas, Texas. Billy served six years on the Balch Springs City Council; as well as, Mayor Pro Tem of the city. Billy would become a master carpenter and work for over fifty years for Peter Wolfe Associates, David Gibson Company and Freeman Exhibits. Billy loved to fish. He would coach little league football and baseball for many years. Billy was "Mr. Fix it". There was nothing he could not fix or repair. Billy was a loving husband to his wife and compassionate father to his children. In his later years, Billy loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Edna Tucker; sister, Evelyn Herring and grandson, Steven Allen Tucker. Those left to celebrate his life include Ruth Tucker, his loving wife of sixty-two years; son Allen Tucker and his wife Angie; daughters,Sharon Tucker and Susan Vaden and her husband Billy; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbors. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held the following day, Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Laurelland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
