Billie Burris

Billie June Burris, 85, resident of Quinlan, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011 in the peace of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 22, 1925 in Fort Worth, the daughter of John Newt and Carrie Mae (Strickland) Hunt. She married Muriel Ray Burris. She was an electronic assembler for E-Systems before her retirement. Mrs. Burris is survived by her husband; two sons, James T. Kennedy and his wife Sandra of Rowlett and Thomas B. Reed, III of San Antonio; one half sister, Betty Ann Pettetti of Arizona; one half brother, Harry Wayne Hunt of Corsicana; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Ray Hunt and Jay Hunt; twin sister, Dorothy Zane Oestreicher; half sister Linda Hunt; and great granddaughter, Heather Probost. Her funeral service is set for Monday, February 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jimmy Sheppard officiating. Her burial will follow the service at Lakeside Memorial Park in Quinlan. Visitation with the family will be Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. All arrangements were made through Quinlan Funeral Home.
