Alvin H Brown, Sr

Alvin H. Brown, Sr., a devoted father and Christian, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024 at the age of 87 at his home in Quinlan, Texas. He was born on September 25, 1937 to parents Samuel Brown and Leona Lovelace.

Alvin married Barbara Harris on February 23, 1963. He had four sons: John Michael Porter and wife Deidra, Kenneth Mark Porter and wife Connie, Richard Brown and wife Vanessa, and Alvin H. Brown Jr. He had five grandchildren: Ashley Hess, Joshua Porter, Megan Kirby, Kelsi Dhane, and Richy Brown. He had six great-grandchildren: Hayden Dhane, Jordyn Dhane, Bria Hess, Adrian Porter, Kinsley Kirby, and Kaden Kirby.

In his professional life, Alvin was a skilled HVAC mechanic, electrician, and professional maintenance man. He also served in the National Guard, followed by the Army. During his service, he worked in meteorology.

He cherished precious moments spent with his family and friends. He was a devoted Christian and cherished his faith.

Alvin is survived by his beloved family, including his wife of 61 years, Barbara Mae Brown, his brother Danny Attaberry and wife Joanne, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. He was preceded in death by his father Samuel Brown, mother Leona Brown, four brothers, two sisters, and his son Alvin H. Brown, Jr.

A funeral service in his honor will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Quinlan Church of Christ. Visitation will take place one hour prior.
